Earth Lovers: Get Gorgeous For Summer

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Today’s shower time: I’m going to try extremely hard to hit the three minute mark today. I’ll tweet the results so follow me at twitter.com/alissamarieg
The shower situation: after a run and hopefully before a night of Angel (the seriously less interesting but still funny at times Buffy spinoff)
Why you should come back tomorrow: to reread all of my blogs and watch all the videos

Today marks the last day of the three-minute shower challenge, but it’s also Earth Day! These two weeks have flown by, and although I haven’t hit the three minute mark with my showers yet, I have drastically cut down on the length. My friends and family are very happy. I’ve also been thinking a lot about ways to be more green.

In honor of Earth Day, I’m bringing you into the shower with one of my best friends. I know I promised this awhile ago, but as you’ll see – Emily’s really busy. It’s pretty hard for two busy people to get on the same page.

You’ll notice that Emily’s very happy. People who are doing great things are usually pretty joyous. What did Legally Blonde say?

“Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.”

I’ve had so much fun with this blog and with everything in the last few weeks. What I’m saying is you’re happy when you make a positive difference, and that will allow you to radiate. And now, I’m excited to check out some green clothes. Hey, summer’s coming up and what girl can’t use a good shopping kick to start the season out right. Check out some good finds below.

I’ve learned some important things through this challenge and blog:

  • I have the most amazing people in my life. Everyone was so supportive, both of me and of the cause. I already knew I had the best family and friends in the world, but I am so thankful for everyone. I suspect Hannibal Lecter would’ve been a little nicer if he’d had such great people surrounding him.
  • All writers should consider blogging. It forces you to write every day.
  • It’s really easy for one person to make a difference. It might be a small difference, but it still helps. This applies to the water shortage, the environment and every other cause. Buffy may have only worked in the small town of Sunnydale, but her work resonated around the world.

Thank you so much for reading! I’ve had a blast and hope you guys have tried to shorten your showers. Also, I have a great internship lined up for the summer, but if you have any kind of money and any ties to journalism and want to employ me come September, I wouldn’t object.

I’ll leave you with some Green resources. I like to shop and from now on when I do I’ll be thinking Green.
