What College Graduation Dress You Should Wear, Based On Your Favorite Trend

The countdown to graduation is on! With spring break behind us and only a few weeks left until our last exams, graduation is right around the corner. While the fours years of exams, overpriced textbooks and my fair share of campus crushes we’re fun…I’m ready to grab my diploma and say farewell.

This spring is filled with plenty of bold trends that are perfect for graduation. From bold neons to sweet eyelet lace and everything in between, you’ll have no trouble finding the perfect graduation ‘fit. So pick your favorite spring trend and get shopping for your picture-perfect college graduation dress!

Feather trim

LPA Aurora Dress, $158

Are you known around campus for your killer fits? With celebs like Zendaya, Kendall Jenner and Cardi B wearing feathers, the feather trim on your dress sets you apart as a trend setter even on graduation day.

’80s glam

Zara Sequin Dress, $70

If you were stealing the spotlight on stage at your school musicals or owning the dance floor at your favorite local bar— this sparkly number is for you!

Red romance

Free People Harper High Neck Slip, $88

If your middle school emo phase never really ended, pair this lacy dress with studded heels for a sophisticated take on your everyday punk look. Grungy punk-inspired looks were huge on the runways so you’ll be right on trend. Need some inspo? Check out Prada’s Frankenstien inspired show!

Sweet eyelet

Storets Annabel Eyelet Cutout Dress, $60

Add a bit of Southern charm to your graduation look with feminine eyelet lace. The cutouts add a touch of sexiness that balances the youthfulness of the ruffles and white fabric. Plus it’ll look adorable with a denim jacket and sandels for weekend brunch in the summer!

Bold neon

Forever 21 Ruched Cami Dress, $25

Love being the center of attention? Keep all eyes on you at graduation in an eye-popping fluorescent dress. Check out these looks from members of our InfluenceHer Collective gang for some inspo.

Animal print

JOA Leopard Print Satin Slipdress, $75

Life of the party? A little bit rebellious? Show off your fearless sense of style with an animal print number. Go for a classy two strap heel and simple makeup to keep the look graduation appropriate.

Luxe velvet

Nasty Gal Speed It Up Velvet Dress, $40

If minimalism is more your speed, play with fun texture instead of color. The simple cut and classic color of the dress keeps it within your comfort zone, while the rich velvet adds elegance and timelessness.

Polka dots

Superdown Idala Polka Dot Dress, $74

Whether you’re a history major or a vintage lover, a polka dot print evokes the flirty 50’s spirit you love in a modern way. Opt for heels in the same color family to keep the look simpler, or go bold with a coordinating red lip and heel.

Pastel vibe

Lulus Lawson Light Blue Skater Dress, $56

If your style is more sweet and simple, then this summer’s pale blue is perfect for you. A solid colored dress like this one is perfect for matching your sorority sisters or BFF’s! Make your look extra special by decorating your grad cap with coordinating colors.

Colorblocking

Fashion Nova Stay Solid Colorblock Dress, $35

Accentuate your killer curves in a form-fitting colorblocked dress. The bold lines help give you shape and draw attention up towards your face. Adding a fun-colored mani in the same color palette gives the look that extra special touch.

Tie dye

Urban Outfitters Kailua Mesh Dress, $69

Art majors, boho babes and ‘Chella enthusiasts, consider this swirling print a parent-approved version of your favorite tie dye tee. The bright colors will pop against your solid colored cap and gown!

One shoulder

Missguided Red One Shoulder Midi Dress, $47

If you spent the last four years dominating at intermural soccer or living in the gym with your guy friends, show off your toned arms with an asymetrical neckline. A bodycon fit and thigh slit balance out the classy midi length. Pair with a matching shoe for a chic monochrome ‘fit.
