Its time to make a change Collegiettes and switch up that side swept hair! Trendy celebs from Whitney Eve Port to Ashley Olsen have been spotted rocking middle parts. No longer shall they be considered nerdy or second to the side part, on the contrary they are chic and trendy.

For some Collegiettes this is what they wanted we have been dying to hear after years of meticulously forcing their natural middle parts into side swept looks. For others, this may require a little bit more effort.

If your hair does not naturally take on a perfectly centered part spurt with shine spray and comb hair evenly to both sides. For less tame hair, part your hair while it is still wet, then blow dry it while pressing continuously down with a brush or comb. If you want a less pronounced middle part, do the parting with your finger versus a comb.

There are varying ways you can style your hair with a middle part to create flattering looks. For a sleek look, flat iron hair. For a more elegant look try spraying hair with a heat-protector spray and either twisting it or curling it with a curling iron (like SJP pictured above).
