Ashley Graham is truly an amazing woman. As probably the most famous curvy model right now (fact: she hates the term “plus size”), she has been on countless covers promoting body positivity. In a recent shoot with Vogue Italia, the model posed for some lingerie pictures and posted them on Instagram completely unedited, besides some cool filters, of course. Unretouched, meaning no smoothing out stretch marks or photoshopping skinnier thighs. Now that’s badass.
It’s obvious that Graham wants the world to know that she is comfortable embracing what some would consider “flaws,” and that everyone else should be too! In her memoir A New Model, Graham recounts a time where she almost gave up her dreams of being a model. Her mother advised her, “It doesn’t matter what you think about your body, because your body is supposed to change somebody’s life.”
Considering that Graham has now changed the game in both the modeling industry and the body positivity community, it’s obvious that it’s not just her body––it’s her attitude too.
