After 248 Formulations, Glossier Finally Came Out with Most Perfect Mascara

Mascara is likely a staple in everyone’s makeup bag from beauty lovers to minimalists alike. There’s just one small problem: Not all mascaras are made at the highest quality, even though it feels like they’re being advertised to do it all for your lashes – right down to transforming you into a model, paying off your credit card, improving your grades, and regulating your period.

If you’re anything like me, you go through stages with different mascara. You have a go-to that’s pretty good. Then, maybe every six months or so, you start to get sick of it. You notice that it doesn’t curl your lashes the way you want it to, or that it seems to dry out right after you buy it. So, you decide to dip your toes back into the market, and try something different. Then, that mascara just makes you miss your old tube even more. You repurchase your OG, and suddenly forget about all of it’s flaws… for about another six months, until you repeat cycle of dissatisfaction with your lash tools.

Praise be, because Glossier has finally debuted a life-changing mascara that will get you out of your rut. Enter: the Lash Stick ($16 at Glossier).

The brand known for effortless beauty and effective results claims to have created the perfect formula, and after 248 formulations ad 18 months of testing they’ve finally nailed it. Here’s the Lash Stick description via Glossier’s webpage:

“Lash Slick curls and sculpts as it lengthens, enhancing the look of your natural lashes instead of clumping them together or spackling them in product. Teeny-tiny fibers coat lashes from root to tip to create a lengthened baby-extension, while flexible film-forming polymers lift and lock each fiber into place. And it’s water-resistant (not waterproof), so Lash Slick washes off easy with warm water at the end of your day.”

That’s quite a mouthful, so I’ll offer a simpler breakdown. Basically, the mascara is offering a more natural look (which is on-brand for Glossier), so it’s not replacing the look of falsies, or going for the “bold” style that other brands promise. It’s going to extend your lashes a bit, but not create anything too spidery. Its also going to stay all day, through tears and everything besides warm water, which is useful, considering that the last thing you want while going for the natural look is any flakes or stains on your face.

If you’re a fan of Glossier’s cult-favourite product, Boy Brow, then you’re in luck. Lash Slick is also described as a pomade that’s just not quite as glossy, where the overall product is meant to “enhance” your natural features, instead of changing them completely.

If you’re already sold on the product and ready to add to cart, you can! This mascara is cruelty-free, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, allergy-tested, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, and suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers (WOW!) meaning that this is truly a mascara that’s friendly for everyone. Enjoy!
