Not only am I excited to be putting 2020 in the past, but I am so looking forward to all the new fashion trends that 2021 has to offer. To make it easy for you to keep tabs on all the most up-and-coming trends for the new year, I’ve decided to make a list of the top 10 must-know trends to keep your wardrobe looking on-point. From headbands to the color espresso, you will surely fall in love with these trends, which are about to be seen everywhere.

Nylon shoulder bags

So many colors, cost-effective and so functional! What more could we ask for from a trend? Shoulder bags have taken over 2020 and I predict that nylon shoulder bags will continue to be a hot item in 2021 in a range of different colors!

Chunky rings

This is one of my favs, simply because they add such a unique pop of color and can be mixed and matched to accent any look. Clearly, I am a firm believer that a little fun accessory can go a long way when it comes to looking on-trend for 2021.

Colorful knits

Perfect for the winter cold, adding some brightly colored knits into your winter wardrobe will boost your mood and help you stay on-trend at the same time. Bonus points for any knits that use color blocking, which totally increases the trend factor.

Loose silhouettes

If there is one thing that 2020 has given us, it’s a new appreciation for comfortable clothing. That’s why loose silhouettes will be all the rage in the new year, with flowy pants and sweaters becoming the ultimate go-to in our wardrobes.

Unique cutouts

Maddy’s iconic I.AM.GIA. pants from HBO’s Euphoria have totally influenced this trend after everyone collectively binged the show during quarantine — and I am not mad about it. From hip cutouts to full backless tops, the opportunities are endless to show a little skin for a confidence-boosting look.

Espresso-colored everything

I personally never want to see an end to the newfound obsession with this rich, perfect-for-winter color. Espresso is totally taking over our Instagram feeds and can flatter almost any skin tone. From sweatsuits to bikinis, you are sure to look totally on-trend no matter how you choose to wear the color.

Fur-lined coats and sweaters

This trend is giving me 1970s vibes to the max, and it’s safe to say I am all for it. Whether it’s faux or the real thing, a fur-lined coat will go a long way as a new staple in your wardrobe for adding some fun flair to any outfit.

Cow print

I love any opportunity to give a black-and-white color combination an added oomph, which is why cow print is perfect for those who love their neutral tones but want to shake things up. Throw on some cow print shoes or a jacket to spice things up without going overboard on brightness.

I don’t know about you, but all of these trends have me thinking that 2021 might actually be the year we have all been waiting for. Bring on the outfits! Remember to tag us on Instagram @hercampus and @hercampusstyle to share which trend you chose to incorporate into your look.
