5 Warm Weather Trends This Fashion Major Can’t Stop Adding to Her Cart

Okay, the weather is changing and that means it’s totally time to spring clean our wardrobes and start adding pieces that are trending RN. As a fashion major, it’s super important to be up on the latest trends and know what people are wearing. Celebrities and Instagram influencers alike have been posting their street style looks and they’ve seriously been giving me the shopping bug this season.

I know personally, I can’t stop keeping my online shopping carts full with fun new pieces I have my eyes on. For the sake of style, I think it’s time to invest in some key items that are going to make a statement all season long. Here are the five warm weather trends I’m gonna be getting my hands on (and suggest you do too).

Graphic tees

So graphic tees are universal year round, but my favorite time to wear them is in the spring and summer. I usually have a few hiding around on my lazy days, but thanks to Calvin Klein’s SS ‘19 runway show, there’s been a huge resurgent on making the band tee a wardrobe priority not just for lazy days, but for every day. I love music and I feel like the type of music I listen to and my style goes very hand in hand so I love using this as an excuse to show off what artists I’ve been loving lately. My go-to pairings with these are either a pair of mom jeans, a denim skirt, or even biker shorts!

All white everything

Head to toe neutrals and monochromatic looks have been trending all over Instagram and I can’t get enough of it, mainly because it makes getting ready in the morning THAT much easier.  The white on white looks so effortlessly chic and pairs super well with that summer tan. I’ve been having these Wide Leg White Crop Jeans from American Eagle in my cart for the longest time, and will definitely be purchasing soon

Satin

The texture in clothing is one of my favorite things to play with in my wardrobe. In the fall, my obsession was corduroy, but now with the warmer weather, I’m moving over to satin. This Nasty Gal satin tank top comes in a variety of colors and will definitely be making its way over to my closet ASAP.

Mixing prints

Mixing prints looks intimidating, but I actually think it’s so iconic. With animal prints, florals, plaid, and geometric patterns, how can you pick just one? Animal print is now basically a neutral in my closet and looks so good with just about any dark pattern I own. It’s a good way to spice up an otherwise super boring look.

Underwear as outerwear

This trend to me is SO empowering and I’m not ashamed to say I’ll be rocking it this summer.  My favorite ways I’ve seen it styled is full on bustiers underneath a pair of mom jeans or trousers, or a corset over your favorite silky top.  It’s a good way to layer and make your outfits more interesting, without overheating in the summertime. If this trend is a bit too daring for you, this corset style top from Forever 21 is a good alternative!

These trends this season are ones we haven’t seen in a while and I can’t. stop. shopping. Are you going to try out any of these trends? Tag @HerCampusStyle on Instagram to be featured!
