5 Oversized Scarves That Practically Double as Blankets

Getting polar vortex-ready means layering—and lots of it. And though we have proof that puffer coats can look stylish, they just aren’t fit for every occasion. You need something that’s chic and sophisticated—something that can be dressed up (even way up!) or down for casual days out. The solution? An oversized—a seriously oversized scarf. From the boho-inspired to classic check prints, there’s a scarf to suit any look! And, collegiettes, these have an added benefit: They’re all big enough to double as a blanket for when you need a quick nap during late nights at the library!

1. Tribal

Take the tribal trend from summer to winter with this New Look Geo-Tribal Border Wrap Scarf ($37.88) from ASOS. With leggings and a skinny gold belt, you can also turn this scarf into a more chic poncho.

2. Boho

Give off boho vibes with this Urban Outfitter’s Oversized Geo Blanket Scarf ($44). The neutral color on this scarf allows you to pair with dark shades or even experiment with bright colors in our oufit. Plus, we’re loving the fringe on this scarf.

3. Geometric

For a modern look, we’d suggest the Oversized Grid Check Square Scarf ($34.11) from ASOS. The classic and graphic pattern will add some dimension to your outfit. Go minimalist with some skinny jeans and a black turtle neck, and you’ll be ready for any cold day.

4. Plaid

As we’ve seen, plaid is having a moment this season. Get the look with Zara’s Checked Scarf ($39.90)—wearing it with a cable knit sweater and a wide brim fedora hat makes it so perfect for the holidays.

5. Abstract

Add a statement piece to your closet with this Patterned Jacquard Scarf from Zara ($59.90). The abstract print adds a unique look no one else will have. We think this would look great with white jeans and a leather jacket.

Which oversized scarf will you be adding to your closet this winter?
