The 20 Most Glamorous Red Carpet Looks of 2017

2017 was the year of red carpet style that totally served. From the Met Gala to Cannes to the Golden Globes, Hollywood’s biggest stars came out and stunned us, as per usual. To end the year strong, we’re looking back on the 20 most glamorous red carpet looks of 2017. Read on to see if any of your favorite pieces made the cut!

1. Emma Stone, Golden Globe Awards

2016 was the year of Emma Stone. After winning Best Actress for her role in the musical-movie La La Land, Stone was the girl everyone couldn’t stop talking about. So, when it came time for the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, all eyes were on her as she arrived on the red carpet in a nude Valentino gown embellished with metallic silver stars.

2. Lily Collins, Golden Globe Awards

Lily Collins embraced her inner Renaissance queen in this beautifully embellished Zuhair Murad Haute Couture ball gown. To top off her look, she donned a classic red lip and tied her dark hair gracefully up in a messy bun. Why can’t I wake up looking like this?

3. Viola Davis, Golden Globe Awards

Viola Davis is the definition of elegance. Few would be able to rock this bright yellow one-shoulder Michael Kors gown, but count on Davis to work it and own it.

4. Kendall Jenner, NBC’s Golden Globes After Party

The second youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan gave some early fall vibes in a burnt orange thigh-high gown at NBC’s Golden Globes After Party in January. Designed by Paula Ka, she topped off her look with matching heels and an array of glittery chokers.

5. Gina Rodriguez, SAG Awards

Gina Rodriguez owned the red carpet at the 2017 SAG awards, wearing an intricately detailed PatBo gown that we probably (definitely) obsessed about for weeks afterwards.

6. Camila Cabello, Grammy Awards

While Camila Cabello may be making a name for herself as a solo artist, she is also making a name in the fashion world. Attending the Grammy awards this year, Cabello stunned in a Miri Couture tulle gown, with purple and gray embellishments.

7. Emma Watson, London premiere of Beauty and the Beast

Emma Watson can do no wrong. At the London premiere of the live-action Beauty and the Beast remake, Watson killed it in an Emilia Wickstead dress that was also eco-friendly. Not necessarily Belle’s style––but still oh-so chic.

8. Demi Lovato, Vanity Fair’s Oscar’s After Party

Demi Lovato was an absolute goddess at Vanity Fair’s Oscar’s After Party. Dressed in a pale lilac Monique Lhuillier gown, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer was a true red carpet kween.

9. Lupita Nyong’o, Met Gala

Lupita Nyong’o is known for having an absolute killer sense of style. At the Met Gala she debuted a gorgeous orange Prada gown with a feathery bust, giving us all the Old Hollywood vibes.

10. Selena Gomez, Met Gala

Selena Gomez channeled her inner America’s sweetheart at the Met Gala. She wore a pale pink Coach dress with embellishments by Stuart Vevers, in tandem with bold pink eyeshadow that gave us all the dreamy princess feels.

11. Zendaya, MTV’s Movie and TV Awards

2017 was a huge fashion year for Zendaya, another one of Young Hollywood’s most outspoken about their personal style. At MTV’s Movie and TV Awards this past summer, she looked lovely in a lacy olive-green dress by Zuhair Murad.

12. Elle Fanning, Cannes International Film Festival

Elle Fanning is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s biggest fashionistas. While promoting her film How To Talk To Girls At Parties, Fanning looked like a real-life Monet painting in this Christian Dior Haute Couture gown.

13. Jourdan Dunn, Cannes International Film Festival

International supermodel Jourdan Dunn looked stunning in this Jonathan Simkhai jumpsuit at the Cannes International Film Festival. Tbh, it’s hard to rock a pantsuit for any occasion, but a glittery pantsuit? We’ll take the L and let Dun have this one.

14. Sara Sampaio, Cannes International Film Festival

Everywhere we look it seems like Sara Sampaio is on the cover of either a magazine or killing it in on the Victoria’s Secret runway. It was no surprise that Sampaio embodied chic at the Cannes International Film Festival in a gorgeous Zuhair Murad gown in fiery red.

15. Lorde, MTV Video Music Awards

After making her return to the music scene this past year, Lorde looked like a true princess while she rocked the MTV VMA’s red carpet in a feathery lilac ball gown by Monique Lhullier.

16. Jennifer Lawrence, NYC Premiere of Mother!

In September, Lawrence looked absolutely jaw-dropping at the NYC premiere of her film, Mother!, directed by her then-boyfriend Darren Aronofsky. Dressed in a beautiful pale blue Dior gown, she basically looked like a real-life princess and we have been shook ever since.

17. Millie Bobby Brown, Emmy Awards

At only 13-years-old, Millie Bobby Brown is one of the best dressed stars in Hollywood. At this year’s Emmy’s, everyone’s favorite Stranger Things actress stepped out in a Calvin Klein by Appointment tulle strapless gown that gave us serious ballerina vibes.

18. Bella Hadid, amfAR Gala

We can always count on Bella Hadid to absolutely slay, and that was proven when she walked the carpet at the amfAR Gala in Rome, Italy. Hadid wore a beautiful crystaline dress by René Caovilla, showing off some major leg with a deep thigh-high split.

19. Natalia Dyer, Stranger Things 2 premiere

Stranger Things’ Natalia Dyer may be a newcomer to the red carpet, but she has yet to let us down with any of her looks. At the premiere of the hit Netflix show’s second season, Dyer wore a vintage-looking Christopher Kane dress with her newly dyed blonde hair finishing the whole aesthetic.

20. Aly Raisman, Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards

Former Olympic gymnast, Aly Raisman, made a powerful speech about sexual abuse at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards. Speaking out against the former Team USA’s doctor Larry Nassar, who Raisman stated sexually assaulted her, the light pink gown made Raisman look like the pinnacle of strength as she represented others who have also faced sexual assault and harassment.

So there you have it––some of the best red carpet looks of 2017! These women all had something extra special to their gowns, whether it was sparkly embellishments, bold colors, or daring thigh-highs and plunging necklines. After looking back on this year’s styles, we can’t wait for even more innovative looks to debut in 2018.
