From decorating dorms to picking out Halloween costumes for you and your friends, there are so many fun activities to do during the spooky season! I always love seeing the creative ways people celebrate Halloween, and one of my favorite things is seeing a furry friend dressed up in the cutest costume. While searching online for a costume for my mini Aussie, I found so many amazing and adorable options. Here are some of my favorite ones!
1. Dressing animals up as food:
- Although it may be a little bit overdone, dressing up your dog as a hot dog will always be a timeless classic. Food-themed pet costumes are a universally amusing costume idea that never fails to get a good laugh from passersby. Some costumes can even match your pet’s name. For example, if your pet is named Cookie or Pizza, you can dress them up as one for Halloween! You can even coordinate your pet’s costumes, like dressing them up as peanut butter and jelly.
2. Dressing animals up as other animals:
- A wolf in sheep’s clothing, you say? There is nothing more ironic than seeing a dog dressed up as a cow or a cat dressed up as a seal. There are also endless options to choose from, and you can pick another animal based on your own pet’s personality! For example, I could turn the tables on my Aussie and dress him up as a sheep, so he knows what it feels like to be herded for a change. Or, my orange cat can be a monkey for the night because he is already so crazy, constantly jumping from one corner of the house to the other.
3. Matching your halloween costume with your pets:
- There are so many ways to incorporate your pet into your Halloween costume. From being a cop with your own K-9 unit to dressing up as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, there are so many amazing options for including your pet in the holiday fun! After all, there’s no Mystery Inc. without Scooby-Doo. This is by far my favorite pet Halloween costume idea because of the shared and lasting memories you get to make together.
