How to Make a Gift Basket for Your Friends on a Budget

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Youngstown chapter.

When it comes to finding the perfect gift for your closest friends on their birthdays it can be stressful. As college students a lot of us are on a fixed budget which can make finding the perfect gift even hard, here are a few tips I have found to be helpful:

Set a budget and stick to it

This is most important when it comes to creating a gift, use the budget so you can prioritize what to get your friend without going over your spending limit!

Dollar Tree = holy grail

They have everything you need for the base of your basket! They have baskets, little items to fill the basket, cards, even cute wine glasses (for those friends who are turning 21). Dollar Tree will help you save a lot of money when it comes to gift-giving.

Focus on one big gift

A lot of times I focus on one more expensive gift to put in the basket such as a 20$ gift card, or something I know my friend will love, and then fill the rest with little things. This makes sure you still have a quality gift for your friend!

I think gift baskets are a fun alternative to your regular wrapped gift. It presents the items in a cute way without breaking the bank!
