Welcome back, lovely readers! We have officially made it to the semi-finals, and it did not disappoint. This week was Prince (everyone loves a good (Purple Rain” moment)) night in the ballroom, so it was a bit electrifying and eccentric. We even got our long overdue appearance from Zac Efron! I’m now here to give you guys my top dances from the night:

Top Dances

  1. Elaine & Alan (“When Doves Cry” ~ Paso Doble)

This dance was everything! It was so sharp and full of power and strength. Kuddos to Alan on the choreography this week because it was eating! He really paired the movements and the emotion well with the song. This was by far my favorite dance of the night and maybe my favorite dance from Elaine period. It took me back to the excitement and entertainment I felt from her in week one. I mean, I literally have no critique to give. I’m so excited to see her in the finale and watch her shine!

  1. Robert & Whitney (“Baby I’m a Star” ~ Jive)

Robert never ceases to amaze me. Also, Whitney is such a good choreographer and just knows how to put together a dance that makes her partner shine. This jive was a true one through and through and had so much energy compacted into it. I absolutely love the amount of fun I see in Robert every time he dances and how he expresses it to the fullest. He is not out here for numbers, but to truly have a good time and learn to be a better dancer. Robert is most definitely at the top of this pack, and he could very well be the one to take home the Len Goodman Mirrorball.

  1. Alix & Val (“Purple Rain” ~ Viennese Waltz)

I really loved the opening of this dance. It felt dramatic, yet a bit mysterious to me for some reason. Also, can we talk about how good Alix’s extensions of her limbs were throughout the dance? She really went for it and gave us beautiful outstretching. I honestly wish the dance was a bit longer though. All in all, Alix has really come a long way from where she began, so let’s take a moment and applaud her for that. I really believe she has earned that spot in the finale, and I am excited to see her freestyle!

Elimination: Whitney & Mark

I don’t know whether to say I’m shocked or that this was expected. Now I am again, not a Secret Lives of Mormon Wives girly, but I had been hearing the chatter online and through friends about dear Whitney. Now honey, if you are going to leverage returning to your main job for a chance at a spot on Dancing with a Stars, why would we choose to make that public knowledge? That my dear was something that should have been done after Dancing with the Stars was a mere memory in your timeline. It sucks though because now we are all at a loss. A top competitor has had the chance at the Len Goodman Mirrorball ripped from her, and we don’t get any more Mark Ballas!

That’s all I have for now guys! I will see you all back one last time this season for the three-hour long finale. If you want to catch up on all the recaps from the past, click here. Until next time!
