Your 2016 Summer Music Festival Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at York U chapter.

We are the generation of music festivals. While Coachella may be a pipe dream for some, you’ll notice an increasing amount of your friends on Facebook are clicking “Attending” or “Interested In” live music events happening across the country. Why?

According to a study by Eventbrite, “Live experiences are moments in time that are shared with others, so stay with you forever. Many millennials have less disposable income than previous generations at the moment and this is making them all the more precious about how they spend their money. Satisfaction comes from spending it on experiences with other people and this economy is booming.” That sounds about right (although we also get satisfaction from spending money on food!).

So if you haven’t noticed already, Music Festival Season is fast approaching which means NOW is the time to gather your squad, buy your tickets and book your Airbnb! If your bank account wasn’t annihilated after buying Formation World Tour tickets, then prepare for a summer of sizzling music events! From hip-hop, to alternative pop music, to bass-pumping EDM, we rounded up some of the hottest music festivals coming your way this summer!
