It’s February, which means Valentine’s Day is well on its way! For those that are in a relationship, the day is likely going to be filled with flowers, chocolates, and pretty romantic dates. For those that are single, the day can be a dreadful reminder about just how lonely or hard it is not being in a relationship. But what many of us forget about is that Valentine’s Day is really about showing appreciation for all the people in your life that you love. The best way you can do this is by hosting a Galentine’s Day party! Gather all your girlfriends together and either make it a night out or in, but either way it’ll be a great time together! This article will have everything you need to make sure your day is still full of love at your awesome Galentine’s party!

Location

First, decide on where you want to host your Galentines! Make it at home, a restaurant outing or book a private party room. Making it at home will give it a cozier vibe. You can go full out with decorations, set up a cute picture area for Instagram posts, drink tons of wine and watch movies! If you make it at a restaurant, you get an excuse to dress up fancy and treat yourself to an amazing dinner. Check out the Top 25 Restaurant Picks for Valentine’s Day in Toronto for some inspiration on where to go out for dinner!  If you rent a party room, you get to have a bunch of girls party all together, and you can make it as fancy or as casual as you want it to be without the stress of expensive night out or having to host at your own house!

Decorations

For decoration inspo, Pinterest is going to be your best friend! Think pink and red, heart shaped everything. You can do this any way you want, and it’s a chance to be really creative. Go for the classic balloons, streamers and glitter, or class it up with bouquets in vases as your centerpieces, make a banner and bring out the best silverware and tablecloth you can get together! If a restaurant is too out of price range for you and your gal pals, this is a great way to make staying in look luxurious! This would mostly apply to your stay at home party, but you can still bring balloons and cute accents for the table at a restaurant if you go out. Your private party room can also have all these fun decorations, completely depending on how you want to make it look.

Movies

This mainly applies to the stay at home Galentine’s Party. You can definitely still appreciate a good romance movie with your girlfriends, even if you’re single. Pick your favorites and swoon over them or pick your least favorites and make good fun of them! Netflix has a nice variety of both good and bad rom coms to choose from. If you want to swoon at a happy ending I recommend To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,  13 Going on 3o, Crazy Rich Asians, 5o First Dates, The Proposal and of course Valentine’s Day. Or you can binge watch You on Netflix and remind yourself why you’re still single for a reason! Check out The Best Romantic Movies on Netflix for tons of different options. You can turn your movie viewing into a drinking game, or just sit back and enjoy it with some popcorn!

Just because you might be single does not mean Valentine’s Day is not for you! It can be so much fun when you spend it with your friends and treat yourself to great night. I personally cannot wait to pop in my favorite rom com movies as the day approaches and go out to a nice dinner with my friends on the actual day! Everyday should be about sending love and showing appreciation for the people we care for, not just on Valentine’s Day! I hope this article has helped you spark inspiration on how to have the best Galentine’s Day this year. We would not be who we are without our girlfriends to hype us up or down when we need it the most, and that is what I’m really grateful for in the spirit of Galentine’s Day!
