Places to Eat at the Central Market in York

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at YCP chapter.

One of the places to go before you leave the York College area is the Central Market on West Philadelphia Street in York. A variety of cuisines ranging from Korean barbecue to crepes to teriyaki to gyros can be found at the market. There is also an assortment of vendors that sell foods including, coffee, baked goods, produce and deli items. In comparison to the New Eastern Farmers’ Market in York, the Central Market has more of a selection of food vendors. The Central Market is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Central Market is also open on First Fridays which is the first Friday of every month. However, only some of the vendors are open on First Fridays.

Here are a few places to eat that might interest you:

1. Take Five Expresso Bar

Coffee, coffee and more coffee. If you’re a coffee addict like me then you like to sample a lot of different coffee beverages. Bagels and espresso. What’s not to love about that?

2. The Busy Bee

American style food with many options, including salmon, duck, goat or beef. The Busy Bee also has vegan, vegetarian and gluten free choices.

3. BBQ Cup

If you like Korean barbeque, then this place is for you. Rice, noodles, vegetables, lettuce and your choice of chicken, tofu, beef or pork all in one cup.
