In honor of making it through this extra scary Harvard-Yale Sunday, here are some tips and tricks for getting over your hangover.

1. Advil ASAP. Don’t even think about if you really need it. You will in an hour, so take it now.

2. Iced green tea. It can be hard to rehydrate when you want to vomit, so this is a great way to trick yourself into getting fluids as well as some much-needed caffeine.

3. Don’t go straight into work. Give yourself a little time to clear your head. If it’s nice out, go for a short walk. If not, go to a pilates class or a sauna and sweat it out. If you REALLY can’t mobilize, watch an episode of your favorite show.

4. Have a nutritious breakfast. Don’t punish yourself for last night’s 3 a.m. pizza by skipping breakfast. Eat something that will make you feel good and put you on track for the coming week.

5. Work somewhere with sunlight. Yeah, you might want to crawl back into your bed and turn off the lights, but you have things to do. The light will keep you awake, motivated, and happy.

6. Go to bed early. Take a melatonin if needed or have some warm milk and go to bed. Tomorrow is a new and less scary day.
