9 Hot Actors To Watch – The British Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Yale chapter.

Max Irons

As the son of legendary actors Jeremy Irons and Sinead Cusack, Max has acting in his blood. He grew up in Camden, London and graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2008. Soon after he scored a few small parts in Dorian Grey and The Host. His big roles started flowing in with the role of Henry in Red Riding Hood, alongside Amanda Seyfried. He also starred as Edward IV in the BBC adaptation of Elizabeth Gregory’s novel The White Queen and this year as Fritz Altmann in “Woman in Gold”. And with this cute smile, more leading roles are sure to follow.

Nicholas Hoult

Who doesn’t recognize him as the cute, little Marcus Brewer in About A Boy in 2002? Since then, Nicholas has grown into a hot, successful, young actor. Not only did he star with Colin Firth in A Single Man, but has also taken on a leading role in the X-Men movies. And he has been busy ever since – his most recent roles include Lyle in the mystery movie Dark Places, Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road together with Charlize Theron, as Silas in the sci-fi film Equals with Kristen Stewart and as Casey in the thriller Autobahn. No wonder that Hollywood can’t get enough of him.

Henry Cavill

Born on the Channel Islands, Henry Cavill has slowly worked his way up, landing his first big role as Charles Brandon in the famous TV-Series The Tudors together with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Nathalie Dormer. His transition to Hollywood movies followed with movies such as Immortals and The Cold Light of Day. Now this good-looking chap has scored the role as Superman (quite justifiable!) in a series of movies soon to come out.

Alex Pettyfer

We’ve already seen this handsome guy as John in the teen film I Am Number Four and as Adam in the male strip movie Magic Mike. Well, since then Alex has become even hotter as we can tell from Magic Mike 2. But he is not only amazing as stripper, his role as David Elliot in Endless Love is worth watching, too!

Josh Bowman

You’ll probably know this lad from ABC’s show Revenge, in which he stars as Harvard Business School boy Daniel Grayson. If you haven’t start watching Revenge, Josh Bowman alone is worth it! The show is fun, full of deceptions and manipulations, oh, and so addictive!

Kit Harrington

Everyone only knows him as our beloved Jon Snow in Game of Thrones (and everyone secretly hopes he’ll come back next season). However, you should also check out some of his other film roles. He was amazing as Milo in the historical disaster epic Pompeii and his role as Mr. Bradley in Seventh Son next to Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore is definitely worth mentioning.  We are excited to see where his acting career takes him next!

Jeremy Irvine

Born in Cambridgeshire, Jeremy’s star rose when he starred as Albert in Steven Spielberg’s War Horse. And has risen ever since. You can also see this gorgeous lad in Railway Man with Nicole Kidman. His role as Ben in Beyond the Reach together with Michael Douglas also earned him a lot of respect. And there is sure more to come for this cutie!

Freddie Stroma

Despite being practically English royalty for playing Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter, Freddie Stroma has so far landed several other great roles, too. Next to starring as the irritating Ben in The Inbetweeners 2, he plays Luke in Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2. You should keep watching out what 2016 brings for him.

Douglas Booth

His rise to fame occurred with his roles in the amazing TV adaptions of Great Expectations and The Pillars Of The Earth. Since then he has also starred in movies such as Romeo & Juliet and Posh with Sam Claflin. In addition he is acting alongside Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Connelly and Russell Crowe in the epic Noah and as Titus Abrasax in the futuristic Jupiter Rising with Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.  No wonder that he is also modeling for Burberry, appearing in several campaigns next to Emma Watson.

Theo James

This adorable lad from Oxford has mostly starred in British TV shows, such as Golden Boy and Bedlam. He also played David in Underworld: Awakening alongside Kate Beckinsale. Since then he has landed another big role as Four in the action novel adaption Divergent, Insurgent and the soon to come Allegiant. You can also see him as Luke in the drama Franny together with Dakota Fanning and Richard Gere.
