Everyday we are lied to.
Everyday we tell a lie.
You ask the question,
“How are you?”
The reply you get is
Always a Lie.
No one is fine.
We hide behind
Lies.
Our tear never
Shed in front of those
We barely know.
We lie and say
“I’m fine”
To spare them the expense
Of seeing our pain.
And to convince ourselves
That we indeed are fine.
