HCXU Fall Break Plans!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Xavier chapter.

Fall Break is almost here! Who’s ready for some fun adventures? How about a relaxing long weekend? Maybe even catching up on schoolwork? Here’s what some Her Campus Xavier members have planned for their breaks!

Co-Correspondent Tasha Young: I’m planning to go home to Texas. My boyfriend and I will be going to the Texas State Fair, where I’ll get to ride a bunch of rollercoasters, eat lots of fried food, and see a ton of farm animals. I also can’t wait to see my family and my doggo! And stuff my face with as much Mexican food as possible.

Co-Correspondent Allison Kane: I am not doing anything that exciting for fall break this year. I will be staying in Cincinnati and I will be going to my aunt’s house down the road just to get away from campus. My cousin just had a baby a few months ago so I will probably be babysitting her and getting ahead on some homework.

Treasurer/Events Director Katherine Gemperline: I am going to the Grace Hopper Conference in Orlando, Florida. It is one of the largest women in computing conferences. I get to present my poster for my research in animation that I completed over the Summer. Since that ends half-way through Fall Break, I’m also going to Louisville, Kentucky, to the Saint James Art Festival. I try to go every year since it’s just a fun experience even if you don’t want to buy anything.

Editor-in-Chief Margot Bond: I thrilled to be going home to Louisville for the weekend! Seeing a play, going to the movies, and having a girls-night-in are on the agenda for me.

Events Co-Director Zania Oller: I am part of Alternative Breaks this semester and I’m really excited to go on this particular trip because our social justice issue is about immigration. We will be driving to South Bend, Indiana to meet and hopefully build relationships within the community that are most affected by the political issues that surround immigration.

Writer Megan Gaertner: I’m planning on working at O’Connor and visiting my friend at OSU.

Writer Flannery Cowan: I plan to go home and hang out with my dog while watching Netflix.
