How did you become involved with working with the Admissions office as a tour guide? What do you like about the job?
It’s kind of a funny story… I went to the job fair and interviewed for 3 different jobs, on my way out I was stopped by someone who asked me if I had put my name down. I put my name down thinking it was a sign in but it was actually the Admissions list. I interviewed and got the job on the spot. On my way out, I was flipping through the catalog trying to figure out what the job was. Luckily, I love the job!
I like the job because I get to meet loads of new people, every tour is different. Plus, I work with some of the greatest people of campus, which always makes work fun!
What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you on a tour?
I once got asked to be someone’s roommate…. Both flattering and creepy.
What’s an interesting fact about Xavier that you always make sure to include on the tour?
That Father B is the cutest….and we have pretzel bread.
What’s your best advice for incoming freshman?
Make the most of the experience; don’t wish the years away because you’ll blink and be looking back, wondering where freshman year went. Also, live in Brockman… you won’t regret it.Â
