Long distance relationships often settle for phone calls instead of hugs and Skype sessions instead of dinner date night. The miles may seem far, but finally getting to spend a weekend together makes it all worth it. If you’ve ever been in a LDR, you’ve definitely made your way through these nine stages of spending a weekend visit together:

1. Spending all week thinking of getting to see your SO.

2. Sitting in class counting down the last few hours…

3. Finally seeing your SO! They’re really here!

4. Planning out your entire weekend together. Every second is going to be filled with fun!

5. Falling asleep after the whirlwind of activities.

6. Realizing the weekend is almost over and begging your SO to stay one more day with you.

7. Saying bye to your SO until next time…

8. Getting that first message or phone call post-visit.

Long distance relationships aren’t easy, but if both people dedicate themselves wholly to being with the other person, the distance can be bearable.  Keep your chins up LD collegiettes; we’re in this together.
