6 Songs that Will Turn Your Frown Upside Down

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Xavier chapter.

Throughout life there will be days of sadness, and you may feel like there is nothing to help cure it. If you are ever feeling this way, don’t worry because here are six songs that are true representations of happiness that could turn any frown upside down!

1.     “Happy” by Pharrell Williams

I think this song just speaks for itself. With a funky beat and fun lyrics, this song will make you want to get up, dance, and be happy!

2.     “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell

Okay, I don’t know about you, but whenever I hear this song all I want to do is sing it. The lyrics are so catchy, the beat is one you can dance to, and it’s simply a classic. Play this when you are feeling down in the dumps and it will pick up your spirit for sure.

3.     “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyoncé

I think every girl possesses an inner Beyoncé within her. This song will probably release her because of B’s empowering message of girls running the world. I mean… she only speaks the truth. Girl power!

4.     “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction

Every girl has a soft spot for this song. One Direction, a.k.a. one of the most famous boy bands of this decade, will turn any frown into a smile by reminding you that you are beautiful.

5.     “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson speaks the truth: what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger. Whenever you are frowning during the day, listen to this song and realize that you’re here for a purpose.

6.     “I Lived” by One Republic

The message of this song from One Republic is one to always remember. Play this song to when you need to be reminded to live your life. There are so many opportunities out in the world. There will be bumps in the road, but those just prove that you are living life. Life is meant for living!

Whenever you all are feeling a little sad, play one of these tunes to get your bodies moving, voices singing, and smiles shining!
