Even though it’s the American Music Awards, an awards show to honor the best and most influential music of the past year, no one is surprised that it’s also a time to see some of the best fashion of the year. From the crazy to the gorgeous, we sorted through the good, the bad, and the ugly, to present our top five best-dressed ladies from this year’s AMAs. As we count down from five, can you guess who our #1 is?
It’s no surprise that model Kendall Jenner made the top five. Although we’re not entirely sure what exactly she’s wearing (Is it a dress? A romper?), designer Yigal Azrouel definitely gets points for creativity. Her natural makeup and lack of jewelry completes the look and keeps the attention on the daring outfit.
The actress (who you probably recognize as Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games trilogy) wore this bright mini dress from Peter Pilotto what would make her movie counterpart proud. Although there are lots of colors and textures, we love the uniqueness. Somehow, she pulls the whole thing off!
3. Miss America Kira Kazantsev
Our 2015 Miss America winner wore a stunning blue crop top and skirt ensemble that proved to us that you don’t have to show a lot of skin to look glamorous. The beading on the top is intricate and beautiful, and we have no doubt that she was one of the most comfortably dressed there. If you’re going to try and re-create her look we suggest less intense makeup to take her look from red carpet fashion to everyday style.
2. Taylor Swift
We know, we know, you’re probably tired of hearing about Taylor Swift. After the Spotify debacle and the amazing success of her new album, Taylor’s face seems to be everywhere. But can you blame us for loving this sparkly number she wore during her performance? We don’t know what kind of event we’d be able to wear this to, but we want it in our closets ASAP.
1. Our Best-Dressed is… Selena Gomez!
No words can do Selena’s dress any justice. While it might not be bright or bedazzled, her simple floor-length that she wore during her heart-breaking performance of “The Heart Wants What it Wants” was a perfect choice. Simple, elegant, and classy, it’s a two thumbs up in our book.
