This time of year can be very difficult to feel motivated to go to class. Not only because of the weather but also because many other schools are already getting out for the summer. You may be thinking to yourself, “Why did I choose a school that ended so late again?” But there are actually many good things about having a quarter system.

1. We start so much later

This is definitely one of the best parts. Yes, they may get out earlier, but it feels like the summer lasts so much longer when everyone else is already back to school and we are still on break for an entire month longer.

2. Get to take more classes

Since we change classes twice, compared to just once, we have the opportunity to take a wider variety of classes that interest us. Whether they be for your major or just for fun.

3. Breaks in between each quarter.

I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy that after the quarter ends we have at least a week long break before the next quarter starts. It not only makes it easier to go into the new quarter feeling refreshed and ready to kill it but we also don’t have to deal with an awkward break in the middle of the class where you most likely will forget everything and have homework assigned.

As hard as it may be to stay motivated over the next few weeks, the end is very near and summer will soon be here!
