This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WWU chapter.

Liz Sullivan is a WWU freshmen, working her way through the quirks of college and doing her best to have fun!

She’s a hard worker and always has the backs of her friends!

What is your favorite part about  western so far?

I really enjoy the community that western has. Everyone that I’ve met is extremly helpful and friendly and are willing to go out of their way in order to help others.

What are you interested in majoring in?

I’m not quite sure yet, because there’s so many other things to explore, but chemistry has my heart at the moment.

What is your life motto?

I don’t really think of it as a motto, but I really like the idea of ‘don’t hold back’. That whole concept of doing things and not having any regrets.

What are five things that you want to do before you die?

1. I want to visit Ireland to get to know my heritage

2. I want to visit Croatia

3. I want to find true happiness in life. It might sound funny but i had this amazing crazy art teacher who just inspired me so much. He gave us all a key at the end of senior year that is supposed to ‘unlock our true happiness’ and it’s just stuck with me.

4. I want to get out of my comfort zone, be that with skydiving or bungee jumping.

5. I want to pet an otter, haha

How do you personally balance school work and your social life?

You don’t do it, it doesn’t happen.

I think that the two balance out overtime but you have to keep the two separate. Weekdays for studying and weekends for fun.

Who is your role model?

I don’t have one person because i don’t want to be an exact replica of someone but if i had to choose someone it would be my mom, because she works harder than anyone else that I know. She’s really caring and really forward. I just admire a lot of traits about her.

Who is your favorite music artist and why?

I don’t have a favorite because I personally believe that music is a way to express yourself and I feel like people are always in different moods so you’re never listening to the same kind of music all the time.

What’s your favorite movie?

I love Monster’s University because I laughed so hard that I cried.

What advice do you have for future WWU freshmen?

Try a lot of different things and pick something different, whether that be a club or a sport. Also, don’t be afraid to do things on your own because you’ll meet a lot of new and amazing people.
