Her Campus: How would you describe your style?Â
Molly Full: I was told that my style is “Indie” and I suppose that fits! I like to take the best of most trends and throw them together to make something fun and unique.
HC: Where are your favorite places to shop?Â
MF: I love Pac Sun’s clothes because they are a little edgy and just fit so well! They also have awesome sales, so I end up buying a lot of my clothes there. Kohls also has great sales and a huge selection, so I can always find cute stuff at a great price. I like to do clothing swaps with my sister or stop at the thrift stores when I’m home. You can save a lot of money, and reusing is always better for the environment!
HC: What are some of your favorite trends right now?
MF: I love anything with studs because I just really love to dress like I’m tough, even if I’m not! I also like sequins and glitter, bright colors, knee-high socks, leg warmers and waist belts. I actually have no idea if those are “in style” right now, but that’s what I love, regardless. Color blocking is really fun looking, but I don’t own anything for this trend, yet! It’s totally on my wish list though.
HC: If you could raid any celebrity’s closet, whose would it be and why?Â
MF: I would definitely choose Taylor Swift! She has the perfect mixture between flowery/bohemian and a little bit rock/hardcore.
HC: If you could live in any era for its style, which would you choose?
MF: I’d have to go with the 80s. Everything was so over the top, colorful and fun. I wish we could still be that free in how we dress. It would be a blast!
HC: Would you rather splurge on jewelry, shoes or purses?
MF: Shoes! I’m a bargain shopper at heart, but I’m also clumsy and rough on everything. If you have nicer quality shoes, they’ll hold up for a long time. I especially love boots, and those are rarely cheap.
HC: What is the process you go through when selecting an outfit?
MF: Usually I pick one item that I would really like to wear, and then I pick everything else around that. So, maybe I’ll have the perfect top or skirt, but then I think, “How can I really spice up this outfit?” I think jewelry and belts are such an easy way to make an outfit look really put together.
HC: What do you feel most confident wearing?
MF: Red lipstick, my cowgirl boots and sunglasses. They all add instant sass!
HC: How do you dress for the unpredictable Buckhannon weather?
MF: I rely on cardigans! I’m almost always cold, so I usually have something in my bag that I can throw on if it gets a little chilly.
HC: Do you have a favorite color(s) to wear?
MF: I wear a lot of black basics because it matches everything. I then have a lot of colorful accessories, shoes and sweaters. There’s no one color – anything bright catches my eye and makes me want to buy it!
HC: How has your style changed since entering college, if at all?
MF: I was so shy during my freshman year. I didn’t ever want to stand out or draw attention to myself. Now I just wear what I like and hope people appreciate that! Confidence, whether you have to fake it or not, can make almost any outfit work.
HC: What advice would you give girls who are looking to improve their style?
MF: Wear whatever you want! As long as you think you can rock it, other people will think that, too.
Molly’s boots were made for walking! Be sure to check out her style this week!
