This is the season for warm drinks and yummy treats! Starbucks has their red holiday cups out now, and people are raving about the ever-so-famous Pumpkin Spice Latte! However, college doesn’t pay. We’re the ones paying, so driving to Clarksburg to get to the nearest Starbucks to dish out $4.00 per latte isn’t the greatest idea.

Luckily, Google has a list of websites where people have cheated the system. These people have found a way to make Pumpkin Spice Lattes for a fraction of the cost it takes to drive up and pay for one! Here’s one you can make right in your room.

DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte

What You Need:

  • ½ – 1 cup milk (your pick)
  • 2 tablespoons of pureed pumpkin
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sugar (your choice)
  • ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ – 1 cup of hot brewed coffee (or 1-2 shots of espresso)

What to Do:

  1. Brew Coffee or Espresso.
  2. While brewing, stir milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice in a mug until combined.
  3. Microwave until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Pour coffee into the heated pumpkin concoction.
  5. Top with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice (optional).
  6. Curl up with a movie or your favorite TV show.
  7. Enjoy your Pumpkin Spice Latte!

The great thing about this recipe is that all of these options are customizable. You can add, subtract, or use alternatives for just about anything in this recipe. It can even be made to be entirely organic! Be creative!

Now you can enjoy a Pumpkin Spice Latte anytime of day. In fact, what are you waiting for? Grab a couple of friends, go to the grocery, and make one right now! You know you want to!
