Does the name Chris Toompas ring any bells, collegiette? You may remember him from when he was an RA at Wesleyan a few years back. Or, you may recognize Chris as our chapter’s first Campus Cutie from back in 2013. In fact, he still prides himself on being Her Campus WVWC’s inaugural “Campus Hotguy,” as he has affectionately termed the accolade. And now, he can add Campus Profile to his growing list of titles!
Since his tenure as Campus Hotguy, Chris has been pretty busy. He graduated from Wesleyan in spring of 2014 with a criminal justice degree and has returned this semester to complete his second degree in business.
What has he been up to in the meantime? In summer of 2015, Chris began basic training at Parris Island, S.C. for the Reserve Infantry in the United States Marine Corps.
“It was tough,” Chris says. “So, having a sense of humor definitely got me through it.”
Chris completed his training in October of 2015, and is set for additional training this summer.
Until then, Chris plans to continue doing what he does best: reliving the Don Nehlen era of WVU football, weight lifting, wearing plain white t-shirts, washing his truck and making daily runs to Burger King.
