It can be difficult to find fun things to do during the transition from summer to fall, especially in a college town. Here are some fall events happening right now in Morgantown that are easily accessible and great to try with friends.

Tarot Tuesdays with Danika

I can’t think of a better way to get into spooky season than having my tarot cards read. Hoot and Howl gift shop at 245 Walnut Street is hosting tarot card readings every first Tuesday of the month from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you’ve never had a reading done before, this is a great opportunity to try it. Danika takes walk-ins only, so no pressure to make an appointment!

Redbull chariot race

Taking place on High Street on October 24, 2026, is the Red Bull Chariot Race. This competition is completely free to enter, and they’re still taking applicants until October 21st. You’ll need a four-person team and a homemade chariot. Each team is supplied with a gift card to help cover any costs. If you’re not interested in racing, no worries, there will be plenty of excitement in the crowd too. But if you are thinking about competing, the prize for first place is $1,500 and 60 cases of Red Bull! Even if you don’t plan on winning, this is a great opportunity to cure some boredom this fall.

Free Community Yoga Classes

Rebecca Riley is a yoga-loving West Virginia native who is dedicated to making yoga more visible in her community. Rebecca hosts a multitude of events in Morgantown, including goat yoga and canine adoption events. Throughout the remainder of this month, she will be leading free yoga classes at Ruby McQuain Park on Tuesdays and Sundays. All you have to do to sign up is register with an email on her website and join us at the waterfront!
