Top 5 Things you need for Beach-Proof Makeup this Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

If you’re like me, you want to enjoy the beach but still look good with a little bit of makeup. With the beach season quickly approaching, here are my top 5 things you need this season.

1. Smashbox BB Cream

This BB cream is great for the beach because it includes SPF, and also provides enough coverage without feeling caked on.

2. Fenty Beauty Body Lava

This shimmery body oil will make your skin glisten under the sun and is definitely necessary for your next trip! There are a ton of cheaper versions of this, or you can DIY it with baby oil and crushed up highlighters. The girl in this gif is actually wearing the DIY version!

3. Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara

Waterproof mascara is a given if you are looking for light beach makeup. I like it to look like I still have eyelashes even when I’m swimming!

4. Facial Moisturizer

After a long day of sun and sea water, your skin will probably be dry and in need of some moisture. The Ponds dry skin moisturizer is perfect to add to your post-beach skincare routine.

5. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

All that dirty sea water and sunscreen that you put on your face might lead to some breakouts. I swear by the Mario Basescu Drying Lotion to get rid of my breakouts overnight.
