Three Items For Winter That You Can’t Live Without

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

Everyone has those couple of items that are a crucial to their wardrobe. I’m pretty laid back when it comes to getting ready for my 8:30 classes and you can usually find me in yoga pants and a hoodie. For those days when I want to put a little more effort into my outfit, I think that these few things are the key to being comfy and looking simple and cute.

1) Fashion Boots

Morgantown weather can be really awful. It can go from rainy and windy to sunny and warm very quickly. These boots look really cute with leggings or jeans and can be worn to class or even out to the clubs at night. They are durable enough that when you have to go sloshing through puddles or even snow, your feet

will stay warm and dry. Buying a pair of these was one of the best things I did because not only are they are really comfortable, but also because it’s hard to find boots that go with everything that you can wear in all types of weather. You can get these ones from Old Navy for only $42.50!

2) Scarves

Scarves are the type of clothing that you can wear any time of the year, but I prefer to wear them during the winter. They look cute with a dress or winter jacket. The variety of scarves is amazing and they all serve different purposes. The ones for winter are obviously thicker because they are meant to keep you warm. I really like to use them to dress up my everyday t-shirt and jean outfit. Infinity scarves are awesome because you never really have to mess with them. You can let it hang just once or double it to make it shorter.

3) Jergens self tanner

As many of you know, it can be difficult to keep your summer glow during the winter. Tanning salons can be dangerous for your health and I, like many others, no longer find that option safe. However, I’ve found that self-tanners can be the new trick. I have tried one after the other and none have worked better for me than Jergens Natural Glow foaming daily moisturizer. It leaves no odor or streaks and works in only a few days. It dries quickly and it has never gotten on any of my clothes, even after sweating. For anyone looking to get that summer glow, I highly recommend this product. It is also a lot cheaper than tanning because the bottle lasts for about a month depending on how much you use. The best part is that it only costs around $8!

These are just a few of my favorite things. Each season has something new to offer. It’s sometimes hard to keep up with all of the latest trends, but you can never go wrong if you just have a few staples like these in your wardrobe!

She is involved in the Martin-Hall Agency, which is the advertising club for the University. She is currently interning as an American Eagle Campus Representative for WVU, where she works with two other girls to promote the brand on campus. In her spare time, she loves to shop, read, play field hockey and, of course, eat. Living right outside of Philly her whole life, she can’t resist a good cheesesteak and an awesome Phillies game. She looks forward to graduating college and finding a job working at a large advertising firm in either Pittsburgh or back home in Philly.
