Living in a dorm is entirely different than being at home. At home there was unlimited access to the kitchen, cooking or having anything in desire really. The majority of dorms do not have kitchens, and it is hard to find good snack combos that are not straight junk food or require being cooked. College students often need a good fueling snack either in between classes, while studying, or just to fill a late-night craving. Here are some delicious snack combinations, both salty and sweet, to fill those college snacking needs.

Sweet Snack Combinations

Strawberries & Nutella:

This snack could fill in as something sweet without making an entire dessert or relying on unhealthier options. This is one of my personal favorite snacks in the dorm because it is not too filling, and strawberries go great with the chocolate hazelnut spread.

Yogurt with Granola & Honey:

For this, any type of yogurt or granola could be used. If you are looking for a protein option, both yogurt and granola have brands that include protein in them. It is also super quick to put together, and there are different flavor options for yogurt, meaning you could switch it up occasionally.

Apple Slices & Peanut Butter:

This is a good in-between class option because it is an easy on-the-go snack. You can buy pre-cut apple slices and mini peanut butter packs that are not too expensive. Peanut butter is also a good filler for protein and will fuel you up.

Salty Snack Combinations

Pretzels & Hummus:

This makes for a good afternoon/after class snack because it is a good filler between lunch and dinner. There are also different hummus flavors, so you don’t have to eat the same kind every time to switch it up.

Trail Mix:

Trail mix is a good on-the-go snack for travel time between classes or an easy-access snack while studying that is not too messy. You could buy premade or even make your own, adding your personal preferences to it.

Pepperoni & Cheese:

This snack is convenient and is good to fill you up if you aren’t hungry for a full meal. They can be stored in a mini fridge and are easy to assemble.
