Do take the LSAT early so you have time to improve your score if needed. Do not stress about a bad first score; many people take the LSAT multiple times. Starting early just allows you to prepare.

Do not fall down the Law School admissions subreddit rabbit hole. This page will make even the top achievers with a 179 score and a 4.0 GPA think they will not make the cut. The truth is that many people with average scores and GPAs make it to law school and become lawyers.

Do try to find a friend who is in the same place as you in their application. Having someone who knows exactly what you are going through can make this process a whole lot easier. This is especially the case for first-generation law students.

Do not spend thousands of dollars on prep for the LSAT. There are so many free options, as well as cheaper subscriptions to choose from. 7Sage, LSAT Demon and LawHub all offer cheap or free LSAT prep.
Do talk to real people who went to law school. It is easy to be swayed by the internet and other people’s opinions. Talking to recent graduates or people currently in law school can really clear your mind and give you a new perspective.
