Introducing President of WVU PRSSA, Bridget Feeney!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

Name: Bridget Feeney
Age: 21
Hometown: Maywood, NJ
Major: Public relations
Minor: Professional writing and editing
Celebrity status: President of the WVU chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America

Why did you decide to join PRSSA?

I decided to join PRSSA junior year because I had great grades, but I knew that wouldn’t be enough for employers to take a second look at me. Since PR is highly competitive being very active in the field and organization would make me more qualified. I also joined because I knew of the benefits PRSSA offered such as networking and meeting with potential employers.

What other organizations are you involved in on campus?

I’m involved in the NSCS and am currently working on a Capstone project for Buy Local!

What are your plans for the future?

I graduate in May and then on May 14 I am doing pr for a minor league baseball team in NJ, the Somerset Patriots wooop! I then plan to work for a corporate company in D.C. after that is over

What is your favorite part about PRSSA?

My favorite part of PRSSA is giving back to the community. I know it sounds a little cheesy but I love helping out anyone that I can. Whether its my members, my executive board, or the community I like to hear how I can make a difference. I also love talking with other presidents from other chapters so I can improve my own.  If you are not in PRSSA I encourage you to get involved because you never know how you can impact someone’s life.
