There’s no worse time for our wallets than the end of the Fall semester. We all come back with a bang and spend a fortune at the beginning of the semester, and by the end of the semester, (with the holidays around the corner) things can get tough.
Winter break can be a great time to score some extra cash before heading back to school. Besides, it’ll be good to get off the couch for a little while!
1. Babysit: Babysitting is by far one of the easiest ways to make some money. If you know someone with young children, great! If you don’t, consider signing up for websites such as Sitter City and Care.com
2. Petsit: Hate kids? That’s okay. A lot of people travel around the holidays and can’t take their furry friends along with them. You’d be surprised how much people are willing to pay someone to watch their pets.
3. Get a “Holiday Help” job: Many companies will hire extra help around the holidays. Head to your local mall or outlet shops and I guarantee you will be able to find a gig.
4. eBay: I’m sure you can find a few things in your closet that you’re not quite as in love with as you used to be. It’s time to let go and make some easy money off of them! Signing up to eBay is fast, easy and free!
5. Summer job: If you had a summer job nearby and maintained on good terms with your boss, you have nothing to lose by giving them a call. Either way, they’ll appreciate your initiative even if they don’t need the help right now.
