E. Gordon Gee: WVU President Returns

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

There is a face on campus that is new to most but and old friend to many.  That would be none other than the university president Elwood Gordon Gee.  He was the president of WVU once before and clearly made a lasting impression.  He began his time at WVU when he was 36 and now returns at age 70 for round two.  After holding several chief executive offices of many major universities over the years, the country roads have finally led him home.  Over the next several months Gee has three priorities in mind for his presidency: to strengthen the relationship between WVU and the lawmakers in Charleston, become deeply engaged in the WVU community as well as the state, and examine firsthand how the university can be more effective in all that it does.  Although he is only temporary to this office, the University welcomes him back with great excitement and expectations for the future.

My name is Kalea Gunderson, and I am a sophomore Broadcast Journalism major. I am from Charleston, WV, but I have found a second home in Morgantown, WV in the Alpha Phi sorority house. I am loving this year so far, and I am only expecting great things!
