The Oddest Celebrity Baby Names
Some of the world’s most popular celebrities are having kids and naming them some very odd things. It seems as though there is an epidemic in the pool of pop stars as they name their children after inanimate objects and miscellaneous adjectives. Now let’s keep it straight, if my mom or dad was a famous model or world-renowned musician, I would completely understand getting an eccentric name. That being said, those of us who are not making millions of dollars and don’t have social media platforms that accumulate thousands of followers are even dabbling in nontraditional names for their children. Here’s a list of some of the wildest baby names from celebrities; who knows, maybe one of them will inspire your future child’s name.
· Gravity Blue, Rumble Honey, and Slim Easy Smith – Lucky Blue Smith & Nara Pellman
Lucky is an extremely famous male model who sparked a worldwide celebrity status a few years ago that rivaled Gigi Hadid. With his wife Nara Pellman, who is also a prevalent model and social media influencer, together they have three children. He continued the tradition, with him and his siblings having unconventional names like Starlie and Pyper America, but it’s safe to say he upped it a few notches.
· Pilot Inspektor Lee – Beth Riesgraf and Jason Lee
The well-known actor and human protagonist of Alvin and the Chipmunks and My Name is Earl, had a child with a name that surprised us all. Beth Riesgraf, the actress and television director, was the mother of our dear baby boy, Pilot. The name stems from Jason Lee’s love for a band called Granddaddy and their 2000’s album with the opening track “He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot,” from which Beth chose Pilot.
· X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, & Techno Mechanicus – Grimes and Elon Musk
Elon Musk, the extremely popular owner of the Tesla company and father to eleven, was in a serious relationship with the musician and record producer, Grimes. Their relationship was a mysterious phenomenon on its own, but it rocked the internet as they had three children together with equally unique names. Each name has a long explanation with meaning to each part, but they consist of elven, technological terms, abstract concepts and even the name of a literal plane.
· Audio Science- Dallas Clayton & Shannyn Sossamon
When Dallas and Shannyn were choosing the name for their baby, they specifically wanted a word and not a name. Dallas, an author and illustrator, read the dictionary three to four times and settled on Science. Shannyn, an actress in movies such as Laws of Attraction and Sinister, explained in an interview that they added Audio so Science wouldn’t be shortened to “Sci” like Simon, so easily.
· Bear Blaze- Kate Winslet & Edward Abel Smith
This baby name in particular has one of the most interesting origins. Kate Winslet is an extremely accomplished actress appearing in movies like Titanic and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, who married a businessman named Edward Smith. They chose Bear Blaze because Kate’s childhood best friend’s nickname was Bear. For Blaze, you wouldn’t believe it, but Kate and Edward met in a house fire and wanted to pay homage to that fact.
· Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, Rise Messiah, Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon, & Legendary Love – Nick Cannon & Brittany Bell, Abby De La Rosa, and Brie Tiesi
When it comes to Nick Cannon and his six baby mamas, we are in no short supply of eccentric baby names. Nick Cannon, the actor, rapper, and television host has twelve children in all, but I’ve listed just a few of the most unparalleled names of his brood. With Brittany Bell, Miss Guam at the Miss Universe Pageant and model, Nick had Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, and Rise Messiah who he says all go together. To paraphrase Nick, you have the golden genius child, the powerful sister, and the rising baby brother.
Then with Abby De La Rosa, the radio personality, there were three kids in all between her and Nick Cannon. The baby girl of interest between Abby and Nick was Beautiful Zeppelin who had matching Z names with her twin siblings. They did this because Abby starts with A, so they wanted to go to the opposite side of the alphabet and use Z exclusively. Zeppelin was the planned name for the baby girl. After she was born, they thought she was beautiful, so she was Beautiful Zeppelin. Plain and simple, I guess. Lastly, Brie Tiesi, a model and actor, gave birth to a baby boy named Legendary Love. They gave Legendary his name because the bond that Nick and Brie share is “legendary love” as he says.
These are just a few of all of the baby names that are wild and far from traditional, like James and Susan. It was hard to choose my favorites as more and more celebrities pop out kids and reject the naming norms. It’s also helpful when we have male celebrities who have more than ten kids to keep things fresh and exciting. In the end, we know each and every one of these kids are going to grow up with endless amounts of potential. Who knows what the next generation of celebrities in the making will become?
