Hey, collegiettes! As a freshman chances are you still don’t know where you’re going in terms of what career you will choose. Nowadays, there’s so much talk about finding a job right after college and paying back expensive loans. This sounds scary, we know — especially if you don’t know what to major in.
WPU has so many majors to choose from that it can be totally overwhelming, but an important — often overlooked — step in choosing a major is looking into job prospects after college.
So to help you out, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 highest paying jobs from jobsearch.com. Hopefully you make this much when you graduate!
1. Pharmacists
The average yearly salary a pharmacist earns in New Jersey is about $116,500! That just about makes memorizing all of those crazy medication names worth it.
2. Lawyers
Lawyers in Wayne, NJ make almost $100,00 a year! Getting paid that much to argue seems pretty awesome to us.
3. Computer Technicians
Computer techs can make $100,000 or more per year! Attention geeky girls: we’ve found your dream career — and your dream paycheck.
4. Nurses
Nurses can make up to $100,000 (or more, depending on your position in a hospital; an anesthetist can make up to $200,000 a year). Now that’s amazing! WPU has a huge Nursing program, so getting involved in this field is a popular choice — and, obviously, for good reason!
5. Accountants
Accountants can make from $90,000 to $100,000 a year. You’ll be making so much money managing other people’s money that you can pay someone to manage yours.
Of course, there are so many other careers you can choose from than just these, especially depending on your major and chosen career field. This is just a small list of a few that make good (and we mean really good) money. All of these jobs — and most others — require a college education, so if you pick a major that can lead you into these careers you’re on the path to success!
