The Top 5 Eateries in Wayne to go on Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WPUNJ chapter.

Valentine’s Day is all about spending time with your loved ones and making memories that we define as “Instagram worthy.” Whether your Valentine is your BFF, boyfriend/girlfriend, sister, or even your fur baby, it’s all about making this day as sweet as can be! If you’re looking to spend some time out on this loving day (Sorry, fur babies – you’ll have to wait at home.) we’ve picked out five star-worthy places for you and your Valentine to go to in Wayne, with one delicious exception. Get ready for some yummy eats that you two will definitely love! Bon appétit!

1. Takei Bamboo Sushi

If you’re looking to have a sweet and private dine-in experience with friendly service and Japanese food, this is the place for you. For all of you sashimi and California roll lovers out there, Takei Bamboo Sushi is a local Japanese restaurant that will satisfy you and your date. This little gem of a restaurant is creative in their sushi techniques with their unique rolls – this including their “sunflower” roll, which is a crowd favorite for anyone who dines here. Order it and take a taste if you do go here! Don’t forget the spicy mayo. Yum.

2. Tony’s Touch of Italy II

Picture Lady and the Tramp sharing spaghetti under the moonlit sky… Tony’s Touch of Italy II is one Italian restaurant that will have you wanting to cozy up together just like those furry Disney characters. Now spaghetti isn’t the only delicious dish on their menu. From various pastas to delicious pizzas, there is no going wrong with choosing what to eat here. We’re sure you’ll be stuffed and satisfied from this Italian cuisine! Mmm, mmm.

3. Jyoti Exotic Indian Cuisine

Looking to try a different cuisine enhanced in spices with your loved one? If you haven’t had a taste of Indian cuisine, take a trip over to Jyoti Exotic Indian Cuisine for your first experience! Right away you’ll be met with gorgeous decor and an aroma of exotic ingredients you may just fall in love with — you never know until you try! So try whatever appeals to you or be brave and try something different. Ask your waiter/waitress what they suggest as well! This will be a fun and priceless experience for both and your Valentine.

4. Vila Verde

Fill your night and stomach up with food from Spanish and Portuguese roots when dining at Vila Verde. You’ll be served large portions of mouthwatering food, including their popular garlic shrimp. That sounds delicious already! Order a large plate of paella, calamari rings, oysters, flan, or sangria (for any of you that are 21 and over). This place is made to have a good time spent over authentic cuisine and food you’ll definitely need some doggy bags for.

5. Kafe Neo

Although Kafe Neo is a town over from Wayne, located in Totowa, it is definitely worth the drive if you two are on the hunt for the perfect sweet. Decadent hot chocolate, freshly baked goods, waffles top with gelato, and crepes made to share with toppings you dream of — Kafe Neo is the spot for putting your sweet tooth to rest. They are best known for their 14 inch crepes (Yes, giant crepes!), topped with ingredients from fresh fruit to Nutella. Can you say holy crepe? Having been featured on The Real Housewives of New Jersey reality show as well, this place is definitely popular to go to. Make a stop here to end your night on a delectable note.

Happy Valentine’s Day and eating, collegietes! HCXO.
