You might see her walking to Wayne dining hall with her three best friends, or rushing to her English class, but this week’s Campus Celebrity is a Pop Country rising star!  Sarah Dinetz – a fun, loving, outgoing freshman – has big dreams for her future and aspires to become the next Taylor Swift!

When she’s not studying, Sarah loves to perform her own songs in coffee shops and cafés around her town of Mt. Laurel, and even at open mic nights on campus in the University Café and just recently participated in WPU’s Willystock for St. Jude.  She lists her major influences for her music as pop sensation Taylor Swift, country star Lauren Alaina, and even the American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

Sarah says her love for music started at a young age, and her mother enrolled her in vocal lessons at the age of six after “she wouldn’t stop singing around the house.”  During her sophomore year of high school she started to get more serious about her love for singing, and decided to take it to the main stage.  The dedicated music lover has tried out for American Idol three times, The Voice two times, America’s Got Talent twice, and even has an upcoming audition for X-Factor this month!  She also has a new EP coming out on April 5th called The Simple As That EP that will be available on iTunes.

Dinetz refuses to give up on her dream of making it big in the music industry, and even though its rare for a Jersey Girl to get into country music.  Her next big step is a trip to the “Music City” –  Nashville, Tennessee for the CMA Music Festival in June! During the three-day event, she plans on doing many open mic shows and handing out promo CDs to producers and fellow country music lovers.

With her big personality, hard work, and dedication, Sarah Dinetz surely deserves a spot as our weekly Campus Celebrity. Be sure to look out for her around campus and check out her music on her YouTube channel or her Facebook fan page!
