Gina Suarez isn’t your typical William Paterson overachiever. She has put in hard work to conquer her goal of working for a TV network—plus, she’s a mommy! Gina works multiple internships and oversees various projects. She is the kind of student you definitely want to meet in college, with strong interpersonal skills and a fun, yet, professional attitude. She is a force to be reckoned with. Gina does it all from Brave New radio to being the Roundabout’s TV production coordinator. Whoever said “You have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyonce,” hasn’t met Gina Suarez.

HC: How does it feel to be acknowledged by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation?

CC: I feel honored to have been presented with such a prestigious award. Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has awarded many inspirational women in the industry and to be able to say my work was recognized by the same judges is humbling.

HC: Being a mother with two internships, classes and pioneer update, how do you find time for yourself and your family?

CC: Being a mother of a 3-year-old and a student with two internships, classes, and member of WPTV6 Pioneer Update and Brave New Radio, calls for a very tight schedule. It’s hard to keep up and/or have time for myself, but family time is a must on Friday nights and all day Sundays. Family is key to keeping a balanced schedule, and I couldn’t do it without them.

HC: What impression do you hope to leave on other students in WPUNJ ?

CC: You can do anything you want to do. There are no limits or boundaries to reaching your goals; you create your own boundaries.

HC: What plans do you have after graduation?

CC: I plan to land a production position at ABC Television Network, either in talk or a series show.

HC: If you were to give your younger-self a piece of advice, what would it be?

CC: Take it one day at a time. With a positive mind things will turn out for the best.

HC: What has been your favorite class at WPUNJ, and why?

CC: Without a doubt, TV Workshop. It was the first course to allow me to produce a show from beginning to end. The experience I obtained opened the door to a new perspective in my field and has now become my passion.
