Thanksgiving is about following traditions; Friendsgiving is about making new ones. Friendsgiving is a holiday where all the old rules are meant to be rewritten. This is the time to get creative and have some fun. Everyone can come together and contribute his or her favorite holiday dish or ideas. Here are the top five things to make your Friendsgiving one to remember!

1. Make it potluck style (Duh.)

One person should not do ALL the work. The host should prepare the turkey and gravy….bringing said turkey from point A to point B could lead to a messy disaster. The rest of the feast should be divided among the other guests; after all this is a friendly affair. The final checkmark on your list should be double checking what each person will be bringing or else you will end up with five pumpkin pies and no stuffing…womp womp womp

2. Pinterest is you new BFF

Remember all those times you pinned an unnecessary amount of fall decor and food on your Pinterest boards? (I’m guilty of this)…Well it’s time to put them to good use!  When it comes to rustic and whimsical Friendsgiving and fall decorations, Pinterest is always reliable. There are thousands…yes I said THOUSANDS of pins on DIY decorations and you can also shop on there too! You’ll become a DIY Queen in no time! And if you are still not sure what to cook for the potluck, Pinterest will save your life!

3. WINE. WINE. WINE.

You can never have TOO much wine! Friendsgiving is the time you come together with friends to enjoy each other’s company and of course to share your wine. Don’t be the person who only brings wine; make sure to take part in contributing, but bringing wine to a party is always a nice gesture. For all the non-wine drinkers (YES THEY EXIST!), Pinterest is coming to your rescue with festive drink ideas such as “Cranberry Citrus Punch” or “Apple Pie Punch.”

4. Compile a killer playlist

The best part of Friendsgiving is that it’s a party with all your favorite people. And no party is complete without a killer playlist.  Make sure to include a little something for everyone. Variety is key! With the right playlist, you could set the entire mood for your Friendsgiving. Make sure to get an impromptu dance party in before stuffing your face with all that food.

5.  #Blessed

Friendsgiving is a stress-free time with all the people you choose to be your family. It will be filled with laughter, hugs, reminiscing about the past and all the good memories shared. And don’t forget all the Instagramable moments you’ll have (pics or it didn’t happen!). Most importantly, we all have something to be thankful for so take a moment and share. #Blessed
