College Cocktails & Mocktails: Pregaming Favorites!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WPUNJ chapter.

As college students we all know that pregaming before going out is second nature. Instead of just acting like stereotypical students by downing shots or chugging beer lets try some classier recipes. Trust me, your future employers will thank you for not uploading those questionable pregame pics! Here are some quick and easy cocktail ideas for those 21 and over. Remember, drink responsibly. For those under the age of 21, don’t worry we got you with some fun mocktails!

Alcoholic Recipes

  1. 7 Flush Slush

If you’re the type of person that insists on taking shots because it’s easy to pour, you should try this more fancy drink! It’s also great for anyone who loves their classic rum and coke.

1.5oz Seagram’s 7 Crown Whiskey

3oz Coca-Cola

Pour into shot glass and it will mix together itself.

       2. Mountain Dew Brew

Beer and soda drinkers unite! This recipe will mix up your weekend beer rut by combining all your faves! Just don’t drink too much or we’ll have to call this drink Mountain Don’t.

Half Glass of your favorite beer

Half Glass of Mountain Dew or 7-Up Soda

1oz Midori Melon Liqueur

Stir together in glass for best results.

      3. Italian Margarita

One Tequila, two Tequila, three Tequila-FLOOR! For those of you cocktail daredevils out there you’ll definitely want to try this!

1oz Amaretto Almond Liqueur

2oz Sweet & Sour Mix

1/2oz Tequila

1/2oz Triple Sec

Pour into a margarita glass and stir. Add ice cubes.

Non-Alcoholic Recipes

  1. Merry Mimosas

If you decide that you want to take a break from drinking or you’re under 21 try this! Shhh…people will naturally think it’s an alcoholic drink if you just call it a Mimosa, so don’t tell and we won’t!

3 tablespoons sugar

2 cups fresh orange juice, chilled

1 cup cranberry juice

2 bottles (750 ml each) champagne or Catawba grape juice, chilled

8 orange slices
