As we spend our last nights of the semester cramming for finals, all that keeps us driving forward is the fact that winter break is so close we can almost touch it. We can’t wait to jump in our cars and get back home as soon as possible. Here is what we cherish in our few short weeks home:
1) Home-Cooked Meals
Isn’t this basically the main reason we all go home? Dining room food has got us feeling some type of bad way, and the microwave just isn’t cutting it anymore.
2) Our Pets
Let’s be honest here. We miss these fuzzy little creatures more than anything else when we’re gone, and they’re always happy to see us when we return.
3) Time Spent With Family
Well, to an extent. Then we start wondering when we can go back to school again so we don’t have to answer endless questions, our siblings can’t touch our stuff, we can live rule free and not see every person we went to high school with at the grocery store.
4) Our Own Beds
5) Local Hangouts with Friends
We have a love/hate relationship with the local bars and hangouts that we inevitably get dragged to at least once or twice by our few home friends. We want to make sure we see our friends, but we do not need to see everyone we ever met from our hometown.
6) Sleeping In
There are no 8 a.m. classes to wake up for, and we are free from responsibility. So that means we stock up on as much sleep as humanly possible.
7) The Holidays!
No matter what holiday it is that you’re celebrating, it is bound to be the highlight of you break. It basically wraps everything we love together into one!
