5 Ways to Show Yourself Love this Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WPUNJ chapter.

1. Buy yourself a Valentine’s Day themed face mask and have a relaxing spa day!

I love having spa days, either by myself or with my friends or sisters. And to do a Valentine’s Day themed one would be so much fun! You could buy some fun face masks with hearts or pink on them, paint your fingernails with pretty colors, and do fun makeup! Whether you want a relaxing day in or a fun girl’s night, pampering yourself is the perfect way to show yourself love for Valentine’s Day.

2. Watch a Valentine’s Day movie!

I absolutely love watching movies, and it’s such a great way to relax and take some time for yourself. Whether you watch an absolutely romantic classic, like Dirty Dancing or The Notebook, or a movie more suited for Galentine’s Day, like Bridesmaids or Pretty Woman, you can find the perfect movie to make you laugh or cry. It’s also a great way to spend time with friends or loved ones in a relaxing environment!

3. Write some self-love valentine’s for yourself!

A tradition of Valentine’s Day is to write valentines and notes for your loved ones. But someone we always forget is ourselves! Cut out some hearts from construction paper and write encouraging and nice notes. You can tape them up around your place or put them in a box and go through them when you need a pick-me-up. This is a great way to continue your track of self-love from beyond Valentine’s Day!

4. Make an awesome Valentine’s Day playlist!

If you’re like me, then you love to listen to music. Music always makes me feel better, and the right song can make me feel super confident. Whether you’re into slower ballads, upbeat romantic songs, or break-up anthems, putting those great songs into a playlist makes it so you can celebrate Valentine’s Day and give yourself a boost whenever you need!

5. Read a romantic book!

I personally love reading, and in my opinion, the best way to get into the Valentine’s Day spirit is to read something romantic! I love romantic books, and it’s such a nice way to decompress. Some favorites include “To All the Boys I Loved Before”, “Everything Everything”, and “Pride and Prejudice”. Treat yourself to a cozy romantic book and a warm blanket, and soon you will start to feel so relaxed and happy!
