The 10 Daily Struggles of a Short Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WPUNJ chapter.

Being short isn’t easy. We have to fight to survive.

      1. When people comment on your younger sibling being taller than you.

Really?! I never noticed. It’s not like I live with them and see them 24/7. Thanks for using your eyes to see the obvious!

     2. DWS : Driving while short

Yes, this is what it feels like.

      3. Two Words: Maxi Dresses

Are people really this long?!?!

      4. Not being taken seriously because of your height.

       5. When people use your head as an armrest

What makes you think I want the weight of your heavy arm on my head?

       6. It’s incredibly easy to get lost in a crowd

       7. Cupboards or should I say mountains.

It is a full body workout to climb on a countertop and reach for a cup.

      8. Running so you can keep up with your tall friends.

I’m short. you’re tall. I have tiny legs and you have stilts. Work with me.

        9. Shopping in general.

Apparently designers don’t understand that there are women under 5’4”

     10. To sum it all up: when strangers decide to comment on your height. As if you didn’t know you were short. If I had a dollar for every time someone commented on my height…
