Learn Something New Every Day: What a Great Day!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WMU chapter.

After today, I believe that caffeine is a drug (but not a bad drug! Believe me!). I’ve had so much coffee today that I’ve got the shakes, my body temperature is unstable, and my mind is flying at 100 miles an hour, and my overall spirit is lifted. So on my coffee high, I’m going to tell you why I’ve had a great day, and I hope you can find joy in some of the same things.

Number One: Walking to Campus
Not only is the weather phenomenal today, I also get to appreciate it and the sunshine while wearing a DRESS and strut my stuff to campus. I walked here listening to music so that it is conducting the speed I walked and was just looking around at my surroundings taking in the beauty in the little things (someone’s recycling bin waiting curbside for pickup, trash in the grass, weird things, I don’t know). The sun was shining and warming my face! Oh my goodness it was great.

Number Two: In-Depth Conversations with Aaron
I love talking. I love to talk to other people. I love to talk to my friend Aaron. There is just something going on in our heads that are on the same wavelength or something because we always have great conversations. We chat about some weird stuff, serious stuff, important stuff, and super unimportant things. No matter what it is, there is conversation to be had about it. Even if we only talk for like, 20 minutes (which is pretty much what we did during our coffee run) the conversation always leaves me thinking. I feel like I gain intellect points or something, but I always feel great after.

Number Three: Productivity
Today’s goal when I woke up this morning was to be productive. The past two things that made today great were DEFFINETLY procrastination interfering my productivity; but hey, I need to be in the right mindset to get anything done! Now that I’m feeling awesome and I’ve updated my twitter (and pumped out this blog post), I’m good to go on schoolwork.  Once I get all this out of the way (and am prepared for an awesome midterm week) I will be feeling great EVEN MORE than I am now!!

I hope everyone who reads this connects with me on some level. I know I just got back from Biggby’s, but I may want another drink. Yes, with an extra (maybe 2 extras) shot of espresso. Anyway! Time to kick these assignments out! I’ll be posted up here at Waldo Library for the entire day.

Until next time,
-Alyssa
