DIY- Animal Print Shirt

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WMU chapter.

Broke? Not a problem. I’m going to show you how to create the latest fashion for a much cheaper price. Burberry has a couple of cute styles that feature an animal outlined on their clothes.

The inspirations:

Burberry Brit Fox-Print Tee

               $195.00

Fox Detail Wool Cashmere Sweater

$465.00

I love this look, but I definitely don’t have the money to buy anything from Burberry. I made my own animal outline/silhouette style tank top. Here is how I did it:

What do you need? I used a tank top I bought, but you could use one you already have; make sure it’s a light color and that it’s not ribbed. For fabric markers, I have had good luck with these Crayola ones. You also need a picture of an animal outline or a silhouette. I used Google images to find mine; make sure your image is in black. I would recommendusing an outline. Lastly you need newspaper, if your marker bleeds it won’t go through to the other side of your shirt.

Put your image on top of your newspaper and place it inside your shirt. You should be able to see your image through your shirt. I would place your image higher than I did mine. Pick what color fabric marker you want to use and start tracing or coloring in. I recommend that you do this in a spot where you have lots of light

This is what mine looks like done! I do not suggest doing a swarm of birds, it was much harder than doing an outline. I hope yours looks great and don’t forget to rock it!
