Tired of the Caf? 9 Fall Recipes to Try

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WM chapter.

Autumn is in the air! With the weather beginning to cool, it’s almost time to break out the sweaters and scarves. And what goes better with your snazzy scarf than a pumpkin spice latte?  Daily trips to Greenberry’s can get expensive, and fall has many more fabulous flavors to offer than just pumpkin (though pumpkin is an autumn classic), so I’ve compiled the links to recipes for three entrées, three deserts, and three beverages that are sure to warm you and cheer you up this fall season.

Fabulous Fall Entrees:

Tortellini Soup: This soup is super healthy, and if you don’t like tortellini, it’s easy to substitute in another pasta!

Chili: Chili is always a good hardy meal, and same one they serve at the Caf can get pretty old. While this recipe is very simple, adding other vegetables, using ground turkey instead of beef, or leaving out the meat altogether are great ways to vamp up your bowl of chili.

Pumpkin Quesadillas: Pumpkin for dinner? Why not?

To Die for Desserts:

Apple Bake: Apple is a classic and scrumptious fall flavor. This recipe makes it easy to get that taste of apple you’ve been craving, without having to bake an entire pie!

Sweet Potato Bread: This dessert can be either sweet or savory, depending on what you prefer. If you make it savory, sweet potato bread would be delicious with your chili or bowl of tortellini soup!

Pumpkin Muffins: A lot of pumpkin recipes I found were really easy. Just take a can of pumpkin and a box of Spice Cake and mix them together. You can make muffins, like this recipe calls for, or bread or cake if you prefer that. Try adding some chocolate chips to make your muffins even more delicious!

Delicious Drinks:

Apple Cider: Apple cider can be as complicated or as simple as you want to make it. This link has five different ways to make apple cider, so chose the one that you like best. Too lazy to make your own? Don’t forget about the hot apple cider in Colonial Williamsburg!

Pumpkin Spice Latte: While this recipe isn’t as simple as the others, it’s worth it! Just think of the money you’ve been spending going to Starbucks for their famous concoction…

Hot Cranberry Tea: Coffee might be your go-to for studying, but tea is a great hot-drink alternative, especially in this fall weather!

Enjoy!!
