Student Pets to Get You to Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WM chapter.

If you need a pick-me-up, then this article is for you. Scroll down to see cute photos of students’ pets! These furry friends are loved so much by their owners (and by HCWM because they are so darn stinking cute, and their owners let us feature them!). Why are you reading this intro anymore? Please scroll and read about the animals/stare at their photos for good luck!

This is Howl. When he is not spending time as a pro hedgehog model, Howl enjoys sleeping all day under his wheel, chewing on mommy’s jeans, and eating colored pencil bits while mommy isn’t looking, turning himself bright orange. Among his least favorite things are baths, grass, and laughter, which makes him jump into a spiky ball of doom. Which is honestly just really cute and makes us laugh more. Like any angsty teen, he prefers complete silence, darkness, and the comfort of running on his wheel for literally hours. That is all.

Macchiato (aka Macchi) is a small Pekingese with big dreams of being a much larger dog. Her hobbies include sleeping, eating and running away from strangers. If you see her on campus admire from a far, she doesn’t enjoy her fans approaching her (and she might poop out of fear).

This is Rocket. I got him from the animal shelter. He is a Dumbo Rat which means his ears are rounded to the side of his head. He is sweet and very smart and curious and loves cilantro!

Fitz is a 7-month old tuxedo kitten that has much more energy than I bargained for. He’s incredibly spoiled, but even more loving and gentle (despite biting me ALL THE TIME). He loves to play with people from the window sill, and basically runs my apartment.
